Southern Fried Salmon Patties Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 (14 3/4 ounce) can of salmon
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup cornmeal
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 egg
  • 3 tablespoons mayonnaise

Directions:

  1. Open the can of salmon and drain it thoroughly. Transfer the drained salmon to a mixing bowl and flake it evenly with a fork.
  2. Add the chopped onion, cornmeal, flour, mayonnaise, and egg to the bowl. Stir the mixture until well blended.
  3. Shape the mixture into patties, approximately the size of an average burger or slightly smaller.
  4. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties until they are browned on each side, turning once during frying.

Note: The addition of mayonnaise not only helps the patties maintain their shape but also ensures they remain moist.
