Slow Cooker Barbecued Beef

Ingredients

  • 2 cups (500ml) barbecue sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons minced garlic
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cayenne pepper (optional for added spice)
  • 2 kg (4 pounds) baby back pork ribs
  • Salt, to taste

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine the barbecue sauce, brown sugar, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, and cayenne pepper. Mix well until thoroughly combined.
  2. Place the baby back ribs in the slow cooker. Pour half of the sauce mixture over the ribs, ensuring they are well coated. Season generously with salt and pepper.
  3. Cover the slow cooker with the lid and cook on the low setting for 7-9 hours or on the high setting for 3-5 hours, depending on your schedule and desired tenderness. Reserve the remaining sauce in the refrigerator for later use.
  4. Once the ribs are tender and nearly falling apart, carefully transfer them to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Be gentle, as the meat will be very tender and may easily fall off the bone.
  5. Combine half of the cooking juices from the slow cooker with the reserved sauce. Baste the ribs with this mixture.
  6. Preheat your oven to 400°F (220°C). Place the ribs in the oven and broil for about 10 minutes, or until the edges begin to char and crisp.
  7. Serve the ribs hot, accompanied by the remaining sauce.

Enjoy your delicious, slow-cooked barbecued beef ribs!
