Grandma’s Blueberry Pie Bombs Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 (8-count) can Pillsbury Grand Biscuits (not the flaky layers)
  • 1 cup blueberry pie filling (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Biscuits:
    • Open the can of biscuits and separate each one into two rounds.
    • Flatten each round into a 4-inch circle.
  2. Fill the Biscuits:
    • Place about 1 tablespoon of blueberry pie filling in the center of each biscuit circle.
    • Fold the edges over the filling, pinching them firmly to seal and form a ball.
  3. Butter and Sugar Coating:
    • Generously brush the top and bottom of each pie bomb with melted butter.
    • Sprinkle granulated sugar on top.
  4. Air Fryer Preparation:
    • Spray the air fryer basket with nonstick spray and preheat it to 330°F.
    • Arrange the pie bombs in the preheated air fryer basket, leaving about 2 inches of space between each one.
    • Air fry in batches for 7-8 minutes, until the pie bombs are golden brown and crisp on the outside.
  5. Serve:
    • Serve the blueberry pie bombs warm for a delightful, nostalgic treat.

Chef’s Tips:

  • Cream Cheese Variation: For an extra creamy filling, spread room temperature cream cheese over the biscuits before adding the blueberry pie filling.
  • Fruit Variations: Experiment with different fruit pie fillings like cherry, apple, or peach for a variety of flavors.
  • Oven Baking: If you don’t have an air fryer, bake the pie bombs in a preheated 375°F oven for 12-14 minutes.
  • Serving Suggestions: Dust with powdered sugar or serve with vanilla ice cream for an added touch of decadence.
