Cheddar Quick Bread Recipe 🧀🍞
Ingredients
For the Bread:
- 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour, spooned and leveled
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon fine sea salt
- 3 cups freshly shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
For the Topping:
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/8 teaspoon fine sea salt
- A pinch of onion powder
- A pinch of dried parsley
Instructions
1. Preheat and Prepare:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Generously coat a 9×5-inch loaf pan with nonstick spray.
2. Mix Dry Ingredients:
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add the shredded cheddar cheese and toss until the cheese is well-coated with the flour mixture.
3. Combine Wet Ingredients:
In a separate small bowl, whisk together the milk and egg. Pour this mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Add the melted butter and mix until the dough is evenly moistened.
4. Bake the Bread:
Transfer the dough to the prepared loaf pan and smooth out the top. Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
5. Prepare the Topping:
While the bread is baking, whisk together the melted butter, garlic powder, salt, onion powder, and dried parsley in a small bowl.
6. Finish and Serve:
Once the bread is baked, remove it from the oven and immediately brush it with the prepared butter topping. Let the bread cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely. Slice and enjoy the cheesy delight!
